Turns a shape layer's Repeater into real, separate groups you can edit and animate one at a time, with every copy's position, scale, rotation and opacity written out exactly as After Effects drew them. Tick "Into new layers" and each copy becomes its own shape layer, anchored to its own bounds.

Option A — as a dockable panel (recommended)

Download the .jsx file.

Quit After Effects.

Drop the file into the ScriptUI Panels folder:

macOS/Applications/Adobe After Effects <version>/Scripts/ScriptUI Panels

WindowsC:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe After Effects <version>\Support Files\Scripts\ScriptUI Panels

Start After Effects and open the panel from the Window menu, at the bottom of the list.

Dock it anywhere you like — it stays there between sessions.

In a hurry? File → Scripts → Run Script File… and pick the .jsx. Runs once, installs nothing.

Real, Separate Groups: Every copy gets its own group transform — position, scale, rotation, opacity — computed the same way the Repeater composited them. The Repeater itself is removed.
Into New Layers: Tick the box and each copy becomes its own shape layer, anchor centred on its own bounds — so it scales and rotates around itself, not around the Repeater's old pivot.
Loose Shapes, Grouped For You: A Repeater fed by ungrouped shapes gets wrapped automatically before baking — no manual Cmd+G required first.
Refuses Rather Than Distorts: Anything it can't fold into a group transform without shearing the result — an animated Copies count, an incompatible nested transform — it refuses, and explains exactly why.
