Real motion.
Inside
Figma.

The core MotionPotion plugin for Figma. It takes the same animation recipes our After Effects users import and translates them onto Figma's native Motion timeline. Real motion-design easing and timing, in the tool you already design in. No After Effects, no export round-trips.

What it solves.

Real Easing, Native Timeline
Figma's Motion timeline is capable, but hand-tuning easing to feel like real motion design is slow. Our recipes carry timing and curves authored by motion designers in After Effects, translated onto Figma's own timeline.
No After Effects Needed
You don't need an AE license, an AE install, or AE skills. The plugin does the translation; you get the result as editable, native Figma animation, not a baked video.
The Spellbook, in Figma
The same spell library our AE plugin uses, browsable from inside Figma. New spells appear as we publish them: no reinstall, no version chasing.

Known limitations
& gotchas.

Honesty hour. Figma's native timeline can't represent every property After Effects can animate, so some recipes translate partially: the plugin applies what maps cleanly and skips what doesn't, and tells you which is which. Very complex multi-layer recipes may want a bit of manual cleanup after import.

Also worth knowing: Figma's Motion feature is still young and evolving, so behavior can shift between Figma releases. And Figma's plugin sandbox limits how much we can automate: some steps that are one click in AE are two in Figma. We keep up as fast as Figma ships.

What we support vs.
what's out of our hands.

On us 🤝

Recipe translation, easing mapping, and the spell library. If a recipe that should translate doesn't, or a curve comes out wrong, that's our bug. Report it and we fix it.

On Figma 🤷

Figma's native timeline feature set (which property types Figma itself can animate), plus Figma's plugin API limits and their beta changes to the Motion feature. When Figma's timeline learns a new trick, our recipes gain it too; until then, we can't animate what Figma can't.

Powered by
the API.

The spell library, sync, and previews come from the MotionPotion API: the same backend that feeds the After Effects plugin. The Figma plugin is a translator, not a warehouse: library content updates on our side, and you get it instantly, without reinstalling the plugin.

Motion design, where your designs already live.

The Figma plugin is free to install, with the full Spellbook open to every plan. Wizard just lifts the 5-import monthly cap.
