Cookie Policy

Effective date: August 2026

This page lists everything MotionPotion stores in your browser, what each entry is for, and how long it lasts. It is the detailed companion to the cookies section of our Privacy Policy.

Most of what we store is not technically a cookie. It is local storage, which stays on your machine and is never sent to us. We list it anyway, because it is still data about you sitting in your browser. Nothing in the analytics table is written unless you accept, and that is enforced in code, not just promised here.

Your current choice

Checking…

Strictly necessary

These make the site work at all — signing in, staying signed in, remembering what you have already dismissed. They cannot be switched off, and they never feed analytics or advertising.

NameWhat it doesLasts
sb-…-auth-token Your Supabase session — this is what keeps you signed in. Local storage, set by our authentication provider. Until you sign out
mp_cookie_consent Remembers the choice you made in the cookie banner, so you are not asked on every page. Until you clear it
mp_device_id A random identifier for this browser, used to enforce the two-device limit on plugin sign-ins. Until you clear it
mp_anon_id A random identifier that lets us tie a signup back to the visit that led to it, without knowing who you were beforehand. Until you clear it
mp_attr_first, mp_attr_last Where you arrived from (referrer, campaign tags). Attached to your account once if you sign up, so we know which channels work. Until you clear it
mp_promo_dismissed_… Remembers that you closed a sale banner, so it stays closed. Until the campaign ends
mp-signup-…, mp-checkout-pending Carries the plan you picked through signup and on to checkout. Session storage — gone when you close the tab. The current tab

Analytics — only if you accept

We use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages get read and which buttons get pressed. We never send it your name or email. Until you press Accept, Google Consent Mode holds analytics_storage at denied and none of these are written; press Decline and it stays that way.

NameWhat it doesLasts
_ga Distinguishes one visitor from another so a returning reader is not counted twice. 2 years
_ga_B4WC5CJPV3 Holds the state of your current analytics session. 2 years

Third parties on their own domains

  • Stripe: when you start a checkout we send you to Stripe's own hosted page. Anything Stripe sets there is under Stripe's control and its privacy policy, not ours.
  • YouTube: product demo videos are embedded through youtube-nocookie.com, Google's no-advertising-cookies domain. Loading a page with a demo on it does contact Google's servers, which means your IP address reaches them.
  • Supabase and Vercel: our database and our host. Both keep standard server logs, which are not cookies. See the Privacy Policy.

Turning things off

Use the button above to change your analytics choice at any time. You can also clear everything from your browser's own settings — every site's data, including ours, lives under "Cookies and site data" in Chrome, Edge and Firefox, and "Manage Website Data" in Safari. Clearing it signs you out and resets your consent choice, so you will be asked again on your next visit.

Changes to this policy

If we add or remove something that stores data in your browser, we will update the tables above and the effective date with it.
